Cynthia Howroyd, SLP (c)
As an Educational Consultant and Speech Language Pathologist with many years of experience, Cynthia Howroyd excels at finding practical and effective solutions to supporting families and schools. Her education includes university degrees in Speech Language Pathology, Languages, and Applied Linguistics, in addition to doctoral-level coursework in special education. She is fluent in French and Spanish, and is currently learning Mi’kmaw.
Cynthia has lectured at various universities, including Queen’s University (ON), Dalhousie University (NS), University of New Brunswick, Seton Hall University (NJ) and St. John’s University (NYC). ﾠShe has also presented on autism and related subjects at conferences throughout Canada and the US as well as in Australia, Netherlands, Mexico, and South Africa.
Cynthia is currently developing educational materials to support language preservation in indigenous communities. Cynthia's past work developing curriculum products for autism has led to a number of endorsements and innovation awards including:
